Sava Bohinjka fly- fishing region is divided into three districts. The upper part [1] is managed by the Bohinj fly-fishing club, the middle part [2] is managed by the State´s fisheries institute and the lowest part [3] is managed by the Bled fly-fishing club.

It is all its way one of the best fly- fishing territories in Europe. It is famous for its beautiful and huge brown trouts and graylings. Stream is quite fast in the upper part, but it slows down a bit in the middle part. In the middle and in the lowest part there are also some gigantic huchos (hucho hucho). By using dries or streamers, you will be always successful at this fascinating river!

[1] Sava Bohinjka (RD Bohinj)

Flyfishing season from 01.04. - 14.11.

Besides Sava Bohinjka river you are allowed to fly- fish in the lower part of the river Mostnica also. It is extremely picturesque river in the upper part in lower part you may enjoy in the crystal clear water and beautiful browns.

Flyfishing district:

From the St. John`s bridge up to railway bridge in Bitnje village.

Fishing is allowed by using one fly rod and one fly only, barbless hooks should be used only. The fishing license without name, date and district is not valid.
Fishing is allowed from down till nightfall.
Fishing from bridges is not permitted.

Types of fishing licences:

Daily fishing licence for Sava Bohinjka river (without Mostnica river!)- C&R: Only "catch & release" is permitted!

Daily fishing licence for Sava Bohinjka river (regular licence): Fish are measured from the tip of the head to the end of the tail fin. Follow the instructions provided when you obtain your angling permit.
